Who call themselves Loose Change?

Eventually when a page gets old
enough like this one is, it begins to be kind of fun and historic. So here
is Loose Change in a picture we took when originally developing this site in 1996! And here's a more
current
pic from the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts in 2009.
Apparently, there are groups called Loose Change all over the
world - from New Zealand, to England, Maine, Kansas City and of course Oklahoma
City where we are based. The Oklahoma City Loose Change Band has been together since the 80's but has
consisted of the following since 1991.
-
Lead Guitar: Peter Wheeler - Peter is
the creative element of the band. No matter how many
times we play particular songs, he always manages to find
a way to play them differently each time. Click here for a
picture of Pete in action.
-
Keyboards: Matt
Krodel - A lot of rock bands just leave out the keyboard parts, so the songs really don't sound much like the original or have much variation. With such a strong rhythm section, the keys in Loose Change are free to provide embellishments and that touch that makes a song sound like a song.

looking like I do.
Since 1992, I've been at a la mode, inc here in Oklahoma City. A big
part of what we do includes building websites for
Realtors and
Real Estate
Appraisers.
If you need a home appraisal, let me know, and I can help you out. And another project I've recently been involved in has nothing to do with music, but instead
advocates for families in Oklahoma City.
Lastly, I also moonlight on bass for another Oklahoma City rock band,
Second Street. My true love is keyboards, but I must admit that
playing bass is a lot of fun, too, and it has helped me develop a better sense of rhythm over the years.
-
Vocals: David Todd - Dave can sing
anything. And when he forgets the words, that's just what
he does. Here are a couple of pictures of Dave at a
recent performance. He's lucky I didn't have time to
digitally enhance the microphone in the photo. (Dave on stage

on stage)
-
Percussion: Steven Walker - As far as I can tell, Steven has never made a mistake during a song. But there have been times when the entire rest
of the band has. Steven told me it was more important to
get a picture
of his new gold sparkle, retro 60's drum kit than of him. An interesting thing to note is that we get quite a few hits on this site from people looking for these sparkly drums. Apparently, they are pretty rare, but you'll see them a lot when you come to a Loose Change gig!
-
Bass: Roy "Smokehouse"
Dickinson - Roy's bass is what adds a bottom to our band. Roy's so fast on stage that it is hard to get a clear
shot of him, but we got this picture of Roy and Steven one night.
On a more serious note, you should come check us out live. People who
don't know us personally think we do this for a living -- we don't. It's no fun
to play for your rent (or mortgage or kids tuition if you're us). Plus, our civilian jobs keep
us solvent enough to buy all the killer equipment you see in the pictures. |
