There’s stuff from 70′s through today. We’ve been doing Beautiful Day for quite some time. In case you missed us at The Brewhouse last, this is about how it went. Note that the video is kinda crummy because it’s from my Flip video camera – I’d recommend something higher quality with better optics for my family memories.
I’ve been a Rhapsody subscriber since 2004. Some people get freaked out about it because you don’t “own” your music, but let’s face it, you really don’t own music anyway. Regardless, while we were all snowed in last month during Snow-klahoma 2011 or Oklahoma Snowpocalypse , I had a chance to catch up on some new music, and Rhapsody is great about having new releases.
While listening to 105.3 one day, I noticed a Cake song I had never heard, “Sick of You”. They have a new album, “Showroom of Compassion”. If you’re a Cake fan – as I am – you’ll like it.
And what does all this have to do with anything? I was reminded that we have a Loose Change recording of “The Distance” – circa 1998. Peter brought us CDs last year that he finally got around to mixing down. :) I had never paid much attention to the bass line in the song until I heard Roy play it – it’s totally thumpin! And here it is for your listening enjoyment.
… Soft Cell’s “Tainted Love”. This is from the same family-friendly Haiti fundraiser that featured the “Beds are Burning” and “Don’t You Forget About Me” video. The video and audio was provided by channel 43 – The Spot who also streamed the event live on the web. Several other bands performed that night, too.
